Locations 5707 N FREYA ST, SPOKANE, WA, 99217, USBanner SafewayUnion Status Non-UnionJob Description A Day in the Life: As a Quality Control Associate, the role centers on evaluating incoming deliveries and ensuring products meet all quality specifications and receiving standards. You'll monitor seafood HACCP documentation, collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams, and contribute to vendor quality assurance. This position includes conducting audits, tracking non‑compliance, and supporting training efforts to uphold safety and labeling protocols. Routine coverage of QC functions and occasional store visits for product sampling are also part of the role.Inspection and Documentation Accuracy Knowledge of Seafood HACCP protocols and COOL labeling requirementsAbility to audit deliveries and log non‑compliance with detail and precisionSupports inventory quality checks and vendor communication initiativesTraining and Quality Assurance Assists in training warehouse personnel on HACCP and receiving standardsConducts evaluations to ensure operational and safety procedures are followedCollaborates with procurement teams to improve vendor quality performanceTechnical and Physical Capability Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and statistical analysis fundamentalsComfortable lifting products up to 30 pounds and working in cold environmentsAble to travel for vendor visits, store sampling, and support irregular shiftsCommunication and Independence Demonstrates clear communication across warehouse and management teamsExhibits initiative, adaptability, and independent decision‑makingHandles multiple priorities effectively in a fast‑paced settingCore Requirements Bachelor of Science in Meat Science, Aquaculture/Fisheries, Food Technology or related field preferred3–5 years in food manufacturing, retail seafood, or warehouse inspection environmentsExperience with HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, USDA and FDA inspectionsStrong written and verbal communication across teams and rolesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and flexible scheduling – shifts starting as early as 3 amPhysically capable of lifting over 30 pounds and tolerating refrigerated warehouse temperaturesAdaptable to changing priorities and open to supervisory coachingWhy you will choose us Albertsons Companies Inc. has always been a people‑oriented business, and thoughtful people practices remain a core element of our company's philosophy. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
